You are in for an exciting half-day program that includes visits to such landmarks as Topkapi Palace, Hagia Irene Church, a fascinating boat tour on the Bosphorus, the impressive Bosphorus Bridge, and a view of Rumeli Fortress from the Bosphorus.
Topkapi Palace is not only one of Istanbul's main attractions but also renowned as one of the world's leading museums. Its construction began in 1465 by the order of Sultan Mehmed II on the shores of the Marmara Sea. The palace served as the primary residence of the Ottoman sultans until the mid-19th century, for 400 years.
Hagia Irene Church is one of the oldest sanctuaries of Constantinople and holds a special place in history. During the reign of Emperor Constantine, it was the city's main church until the construction of Hagia Sophia. Located in the first courtyard of Topkapi Palace, the church has preserved many original architectural elements and its unique style, as it was not converted into a mosque after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453.
A boat tour on the Bosphorus will provide you with unforgettable memories at any time of the year. Against the backdrop of picturesque shores on both continents, you will be surrounded by historical fortresses, palaces, summer residences of the sultans, private villas, and parks. Your journey will take you past the Maiden's Tower, under the famous Bosphorus Bridge connecting Europe and Asia, and along the Rumeli Fortress, built in a record 4.5 months in 1452 to serve as a protective shield at the entrance of the Bosphorus. During the boat tour, you will also pass by the luxurious Dolmabahçe Palace, built in the 19th century.
