Dolmabahçe Palace

Palace Harem

Süleymaniye Mosque — a masterpiece by the great architect Sinan, impressive in its grandeur. Today, it is the second-largest mosque in Istanbul after Çamlıca Mosque. It was built in 1557 during the reign of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent. The mosque complex includes a library, madrasa, baths, kitchens, and even an observatory. In the courtyard of the mosque are the mausoleums of Sultan Süleyman himself and his beloved wife, Hürrem Sultan.

Şehzade Mosque, also built by the order of Süleyman I in memory of his eldest son, leaves a lasting impression. Its cemetery houses seven mausoleums:

Mausoleum of Şehzade Mehmed

Mausoleum of Grand Vizier Rüstem Pasha

Mausoleum of Şehzade Mahmud

Mausoleum of Fatma Sultan

Mausoleum of Hatice Sultan

Mausoleum of Ibrahim Pasha, the son-in-law

Mausoleum of Mustafa Destari Pasha

Dolmabahçe Palace — a magnificent residence of the Ottoman sultans on the shores of the Bosphorus, representing a masterpiece of 19th-century architecture. Built for Sultan Abdülmecid I in the Baroque style, it amazes with its luxurious interior and exquisite beauty. The cost of its construction was enormous, reflected in the richness of its decor. After the fall of the monarchy, the palace became a museum where you can learn about the lives of the last rulers of the Ottoman Empire, as well as the final days of Atatürk, who passed away here in 1938.
